PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
DiagnostiX is a superior quality diagnostic complex within the Integra Medical Center in zone 10 of Guatemala City, which provides imaging studies, lab testing, and specialized exam suites with comprehensive state-of-the-art technology.
Precise test results and high-resolution images are important analytical tools that doctors need every day, to make accurate diagnoses and then to plan for your effective treatment and ultimate successful outcome.
The general manager tells us, “Beyond the tests and results, we focus on providing the best experience for our patients, integrating so many health services in the same center. With a dedication to excellence and implementation of innovative delivery methods, I think both patients and doctors are completely satisfied with their results.” In the radiology and exam areas, ask for Dr. Flavio Reyna, who will explain the process to you in English.
Imaging Studies
Magnetic Resonance Imaging- MRI.
The MRI machine at DiagnostiX is the latest generation from General Electric HealthCare Technologies. To improve the patient’s comfort, this machine is open at the head and 10cm/4-inches wider to accommodate larger people up to 400 pounds.
Computed Tomography – Helical CT scans.
This new rotation style CT technology is a vast improvement over conventional scanning. The x-ray tubes move in a helix or spiral path so that doctors see continuous high-resolution data without any gaps.
There is less likelihood of missing small tumors or abnormalities, so this is the preferred method of detecting cancer, cardiovascular illness, infectious disease, and musculoskeletal disorders. Helical CT scanning puts DiagnostiX not just ahead of the curve, but beyond it.
X-ray Equipment – Latest release from G.E. HeathCare
Advanced x-ray systems at the vanguard of technology deliver precision digital results with minimal effort and discomfort.
Ultrasound in 3D/4D.
Vivid image quality and ergonomically designed patient interaction systems produce high contrast resolution images with no distortion.
Laboratory Tests – 1st Floor
The clinical laboratory at DiagnostiX is rated “Biosafety Level 3” by global scientific standards, because they are qualified to study toxins and infections, with the ability to be easily decontaminated. According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information in Washington DC, the laboratory personnel receive specific training and are supervised by scientists. All work is performed in bio-contained sterile environments using appropriate engineering controls.
Cardiology – Heart Exams – 1st Floor
These exams and many more are performed every day at the cardiology testing suite of DiagnostiX on the first floor of the Integra Medical Center.
Echocardiograms
These are detailed ultrasound exams of your heart chambers and vessels in motion. Performed with Doppler color contrast, they give your doctor a more detailed view of the actual flow of the blood through your veins. They could be transthoracic or transesophageal, or fetal echocardiograms.
Stress Echo – Echocardiogram
These tests provide results of an active heart. Conventional testing is performed while you walk or jog on a treadmill, so the doctor can visualize changes in response. You may have an order for cardiopulmonary stress test, which can be performed on a bicycle with a seat if you have limited ambulatory mobility.
Impedance Cardiography
ICG is a non-invasive technology measuring electrical conductivity and changes as they apply to heart rate and pumping volume within cardio dynamic parameters.
Monitor Arterial Pressure – MAPA
A comfortable monitor worn on your wrist for 24 hours can capture your blood pressure continually while you go about your daily activities. The results revolutionize the way that cardiologists investigate your heart’s performance.
Angiography – Angio CT
Computed tomography angiography uses injection of contrast material in your blood vessels and CT scanning to evaluate conditions such as aneurysms, malformations, stenosis, and blockage.
Holter Monitor
This equipment will be attached to you like an electrocardiogram, feeding into a little monitor that is with you all day. For 24 hours, or sometimes 2-3 days, the equipment detects irregular heart rhythms, or conditions that could go unnoticed in regular clinical check-ups.
Head and Neck Diagnostic Exams
Computerized Tomography, or CT scans can be used to capture images from various angles in an area of the body.
Cone Beam Images
This is used by dentists and orthodontists to determine placement of dental implants or braces to correct tooth alignment. Odontology specialists and maxillofacial surgeons can see the jaw, sinuses, mandible, and every tooth in three dimensions to spin it around and visualize small structures from all angles.
Nasal Airways, Paranasal, and Cranial CT
These imaging studies are used by surgeons planning for a tonsil removal or sinus surgery, for example. Problems with the brain, throat, nerves and circulation are more easily detected with precision technology. Internal passages of the ear, nose, and throat can be complex and misunderstood without clear images from all angles.
FEMME – Women’s Center, 5th Floor
Check-in at DiagnostiX reception in the lobby, then an assistant will accompany you to the fifth-floor suite with various exam areas created just for women.
Pelvic Ultrasound
These noninvasive tests allow for detailed images of the internal reproductive organs, such as the uterus and ovaries. These tests are important for monitoring reproductive health, evaluating fertility, and for early detection of gynecological conditions.
Mammography, Tomosynthesis, 3-D Ultrasound
ABUS 3D Breast Ultrasounds are recommended for women with a history of breast cancer, dense breast tissue, or with irregular mammogram results.
A noninvasive, radiation-free study, safe and comfortable for patients, that provides early detection for an accurate diagnosis.
Bone Density Scan – Dexa Scan
These tests can detect bone loss in peri-menopausal women and people at risk of osteoporosis or osteopenia. In addition, together with your doctor, you can evaluate the risk of bone loss, control the fat around your organs, learn your percentage of body fat, and monitor growth and maintenance.
Nutritionist:
Protein, fiber, vitamins, vegetables, fats, and sugar can have profound effects both positive and negative on your journey to recovery and to prevent illness in the future. Promoting a healthy lifestyle starts with education, and I’m here to help you with that.”
